Politician-turned-businessperson Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak dismissed rumours linking him to the attack on Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli’s son, who was stabbed with a syringe at a mall.
Yesterday, Rafizi said the attack against his son was carried out by two individuals dressed in black and wearing full-face helmets.
“Crazy,” Farhash said in a one-word response when contacted and asked for a response to the allegations, which have picked up momentum.
Amid an investigation into the attack, Rafizi had, in a press conference in Parliament yesterday, said it could be linked to his recent meeting with a “group of whistleblowers” with information on a scandal that implicated a “certain individual”.
The former economy minister said while he had investigated numerous cases in the past, this was the first time he or his family had been targeted with threats, and in this instance, the threats were aimed at his wife.
He did not name the implicated individual, but in recent weeks, he had called on the MACC to open an investigation paper against Farhash, whose name was allegedly linked to a coal mining scandal.

Rafizi also said he wanted to trace what may have triggered the incident, but would leave it to the police to determine whether there was a direct link.
He revealed that threatening messages were also sent to his wife following the attack on their son.
One of the messages appeared to threaten their son with AIDS infection.
“The message read: ‘Diam! Andai teruskan, AIDS!’ (Shut up! If you continue, AIDS!). The message had three syringe emojis,” Rafizi revealed.
Since the incident, Rafizi has received an outpouring of support, including from Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim as well as politicians from both sides.
In a press conference yesterday afternoon, Selangor police chief Shazeli Kahar confirmed that Ramli’s family will be under police protection following the attack.
Shazeli said a comprehensive investigation is being conducted by the Selangor police contingent with assistance from the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department.
He said the investigation has not yet identified the substance injected into the 12-year-old child’s left hand, adding that the child is in stable condition under hospital observation.
Just explain to the rakyat on how you become so crazy rich in less than 3 years after Anwar became PM. Oops… don’t send thugs after me.
